Fish Oil may guard against alcohol-related brain damage

A recent animal study has demonstrated that omega 3 essential fatty acids (in particular DHA) significantly reduces brain cell damage in rats exposed to binge drinking.

While the results are preliminary and are yet to be tested in humans through clinical trials, it suggests a role for DHA in reducing inflammation and oxidative stress in the brain due to the toxic effects of binge drinking.
